Buster's Third Flight (Airfest 2017)
Third flight of "Buster" on an Aerotech M1850 White Lightning motor. Buster is an all-fiberglass rocket built from a Rocketry Warehouse kit, standing 9 feet 9 inches tall and 5.5 inches in diameter, weighing 42 pounds at launch with this motor. On-board electronics: MissileWorks RRC3 as primary flight computer, MissileWorks RRC2+ as backup flight computer, Altus Metrum TeleGPS for primary tracking, BigRedBee BeeLine for backup tracking, and Mobius video camera. The recovery system uses a two foot hemispherical drogue parachute, a four foot toroidal pilot parachute and a seven foot toroidal main parachute. The RRC3 indicated a maximum velocity of 669 MPH (Mach 0.87) and a maximum altitude of 11,953 feet above ground level, and the TeleGPS indicated a maximum altitude of 12,543 feet above ground level. The rocket was recovered a little less than a mile from the launch site.
