dd.xls Flight #1 (I280DM, TCC 2015-02 Flight #2)
AeroTech I280DM-10 (DMS-38), single-deploy (motor eject, delay drilled -4s). First flight of rocket. Full video from countdown to landing. StratoLogger SL100 and StratoLogger CF flown with data downloads. StratoLogger logs (with video correlation): Altitude: 2258 ft Top Speed: 432 ft/s (295 mph) Thrust Time: 1.77 s Coast-Apog: 10.5 s Descent: 32.7 ft/s (22.3 mph) Duration: 81.2 s For this first flight, rocket was configured for single-deploy (would normally be dual-deploy). Main parachute configured in lower bay, drogue placed in upper bay and not deployed. Landed approximately 493 feet from launch pad. Because the main was attached below the camera the camera ends up pointing towards the sky for the entire descent. When configured for dual-deploy the camera will face the drogue parachute during initial descent, then switch to facing the ground once the main parachute deploys. OpenRocket simulation suggested: Altitude: 1865 ft Top Speed: 388 ft/s (264 mph) Max Accel: 7.56 G Apogee @ 10.8 s (8.85 s optimum delay) Descent: 30.8 ft/s (21 mph) Duration: 71.2 s
