First flight of the Saturn V
The first launch of my Estes Saturn V using an Estes D12-3. The engine was underpowered for the rocket, only lifting it about 100' in the air. I don't think I had enough wadding in the tube because the ejection charge only ejected the nose section, but did not eject the main parachutes. Thankfully the nose did eject and its parachute deployed, saving the detailed nose work. The body tube dropped to the ground and put a small dent in the front. The dent was very small, only damaging some of the wrap. It was easily fixed. My next flight will be with an Aerotech E15-4W, which should put the rocket up to around 500'. I will also pack much more wadding behind the main chutes to get them deployed also.
