J825T Amateur Rocket Flight
This was my forth launch of my homemade fiberglass rocket, Event Horizon. I found the largest rocket motor that I could buy that the time to fit into a 38mm casing, after I successfully got my level 2 certification. The vehicle weight at time of launch was just over 5 lbs, with a motor that averages 175 lbs for 1.5 seconds of burn time. Needless to say, this rocket screamed like a bat out of hell. It was estimated to have achieved an altitude of approximately 10,000 feet. After apogee, when the ejection charge went off, it took the rocket over 5 minutes to crash land and flutter back to earth. I have repaired the broken pieces of the rocket...it will fly again...
