Great up, bad down on this flight.  The first deployment failure I've had in a couple of years.  First time on the pad after powering up the Perfectflite MAWD I did not get continuity from both deployment charges.  Took the rocket down and tightened up both of the leads coming from the terminal blocks on the altimeter bay.  Second time on the pad got good continuity beeps from the MAWD.  Great Skidmark boost, loud and proud off the rail with a good echo off the trees.  Arcing over at the top of the climb with no apogee event!  Rocket arced over and started accelerating towards the ground.  The fins were starting to whistle pretty good when the rocket passed 500 feet and the main ejection charge fired.  The rocket seperated, the chute deployed cleanly and was subsequently torn apart.  The rocket fell from there with the chute remains acting like a streamer and impacted more or less flat on the field.  The opening shock had pulled the eyebolt on the end of the altimeter bay more or less flat to one side and crushed the top of the bulkhead/bay.  The 48" Shperachute main had one panel ripped lengthwise and one seam between two other panels blown out.  Two of the fins have major struchtural damage/cracks which look to be caused by the final impact with the ground.  The lead for the apogee charge ematch was still firmly attached to the terminal block and when subsequently tested did not show continuity.  Looks like a failure of the ematch during launch/flight which is a first for me.  Due to the fin damage it is unlikely that this bird will fly again.
