This was my entry into our low-power club's egg loft duration competition. The rules stipulated a D-powered rocket that did not use parachute recovery (any other method was fine, including streamers, gliders, helicopters, etc)
My entry ascended briskly and smoothly, carrying a large egg. At ejection, the spinner and stabilizer units separated, as permitted by the rules. The spinner section entered a nice flat spin similar to that of a falling maple seed. The descent was nice and slow. The spinner section appeared to float in place for a long period of time. The total flight duration was approximately 30 seconds, and the egg survived intact.
This flight was a real crowd pleaser. It was also the winning entry by about 15 seconds.
