Flight Log - 2014-09-14 - Rodney Earp's Delta Star

This is a rocket plane that uses a 29 mm engine. The kit is made by a company from New York called R & R model aircraft and called a Delta Star. It has a 32” wing span and can be framed up in 1 afternoon. Uses 2 micro servos, 1 receiver and 1 battery pack for the radio. I planning to use a JR 9303 transmitter so I can mix as needed.

The kit is a great kit with all laser cut parts, very good instructions and plans. frames up very easy and quick to build a very strong construction.

Flight Date: 2014-09-14
Rocket Name: Delta Star
Flyer's Name: Rodney Earp
Motors: F23-4FJ
Wind Speed: 2.00 mph
Launch Site: School
Actual Altitude: 400.00 Feet

Had 3.5 great flights on the Delta star today. I was flying nice and straight off the rail with very little correction. about halfway into the 4 th flight I hear a big bang and I knew what had happen! I had dumped out the ejection charge and loaded the motor. tried to launch but the igniter burned out so want to replace it. in getting the new one ready I picked up another that I hadn't dumped the charge yet. so 5.2 seconds into the next flight it goes bang!  The pictures tell it all, It's fix able and will fly again!
