Flight Log - 2013-01-05 - Rodney Earp's HyperLOC 835

Building for a NAR L1. Good Kit and goes together easy but did have warped fins out of the box. I used angle and clamps to keep them straight till the glue dried. All tubes fit together just right.

Looks like I’ll fly this one with a J500 for my L2 also this Spring. Update, I passed my written L2 test without any problems, and flew it on a Aerotech J500G, great choice for my L2 in this Rocket.

I got a K185W, it has a 8 sec burn and should put this into the Mile high club.

UPDATE: Flew this in Orangeburg to 6700'

This was my NAR Level1 cert flight. My Biggest rocket, biggest engine, highest flight and first fight with Dual deployment. Alot of firsts in this flight and a great flight thanks to help of club members that kept me from doing some bad things.

The wind was very light, the day was about 55 and sunny. The flight went straght up with a big black smoke trail. The smoke thickly covered the ground on a good speed off the rail on take off. The HyperLOC reached 320 MPH slowing down after burnout till Apogee. Drouge chute opened at apogee and the HyperLOC fell to 500ft and the Main opened to full deployment in a short time to land softy. Landing was about 300 feet from pad with easy recovery.
