Rotary Revolution 09
http://www.ApogeeRockets.com - Because this is a competition rocket, it needs to follow the rules of the FAI event. In this video, we'll trim the length of the rocket to exactly 500mm. We'll also balance the rocket so we can know where to attach the launch lug. The lug is optional, and you won't need to attach it if you are launching out of a tower or off a piston. Finally, you'll get some tips on how to fly the rocket, such as coloring the bottom of the blades to make it more visible in the sky. The Rotary Revolution is a new competition style helicopter duration rocket. Specifically, this rocket is designed for use in FAI style competitions. The model meets the requirements of the S9 event, in that the rocket is 500mm long, 40mm in diameter for 50% of the length. What makes this a very competitive model is the lightweight hub that free-spins on the rotor shaft, and the lightweight balsa blades. I designed the hub for my daughter to use at the World Space Modeling Championships in Bulgaria of 2014, and she had pretty good results.
