Saturn V launch pad test 01 - FAIL
I'm testing a launch pad I made for a Saturn V model rocket. The blast deflector is made of an Aluminum can which I didn't expect to work. The melting point of Aluminum is about 1200 degrees F and I think these motors burn around 2000 degrees F. But I had to try it and see what would happen. I wasn't surprised at the resulting hole burned into the blast deflector but I was surprised at how many sparks flew out as the Aluminum burned away.
