Flight Log - 2013-05-03 - Steve Lindeman's Exo-Skell

This spectacular rocket has a reptilian look that will "WOW" even the biggest sci-fi fan. The mother ship deploys an alien pod (alien included). The pod extends legs and descends under its own parachute - lands upright everytime. Mothership returns on its own parachute.

I scored this one on E-Bay for $9.99 plus $5.80 for shipping. What a deal!! Rocket listed for $26.99 in Estes 2000 catalog.

Flight Date: 2013-05-03
Rocket Name: Exo-Skell
Kit Name: Estes - Exo-Skell {Kit} (2163)
Flyer's Name: Steve Lindeman
Motors: C6-3
Wind Speed: 7.00 mph
Launch Site: Francis Park - Lansing, MI

Maiden flight for this rocket. The only motor listed for this rocket is the C6-3 with good reason. Not a lot of altitude but fun to watch. Both parachutes deployed and both halves recovered safely. Lander Unit landed on its legs but wind promptly drug it over on its side for about 10-15 feet before I could get to it. Both units came down close together a little over 100 foot or so from pad. This rocket is screaming for more power and I believe that the 18mm AreoTech composite D10-3 or a D24-5 would be the better choice and will be included in future flights.
